Little or No Involvement/Communication with Families

In today’s busy society, schools must make a focused effort to include parents in the communication chain. When students are disciplined for poor behaviors, every effort must be made to notify the parents immediately, informing them of the school’s response to such behavior. At the beginning of each school year, parents and students should be educated regarding the student code of conduct and school policy surrounding infractions that occur.

Lack of incentives to promote positive behavior

School-wide discipline is more than simply establishing rules and consequences for problem behavior.  A comprehensive and effective school-wide discipline program takes preventative measures, which include a positive behavior support component that is designed to demonstrate, promote, and reinforce, positive student behavior.

No systematic data-based decision-making procedures

Without systematic, data-based decision-making procedures, the implementation of a school discipline system is prone to failure. Proper planning of a school-wide discipline program requires reliable data that allows school administrators to strategically target student behaviors, establish preventative measures and effectively identify and provide appropriate interventions for students who exhibit these behaviors.

Lack of strict enforcement of rules

Without a strong commitment from administrators, teachers and staff, having a well constructed school-wide discipline plan on paper means nothing. At the beginning of each school year, students should be thoroughly informed of the school-wide student code of conduct, which should clearly display a list of behavioral expectations.

When my daughter was four I decided to put her in a school. Galaxy Public School had just been established near my place in the Gyaneswar area so I enrolled her there in the nursery class. But even as I was putting her in Galaxy, my mind was already thinking of ways to get her admitted into the more renowned St. Mary’s High School in Jawalakhel. Two years later, we did just that. I remember waiting on the school’s grounds as the entrance exams were being conducted in a hall at St. Mary’s. The question on my mind was how the students would be selected since I couldn’t fathom what difference in intelligence there would be among six-year-old children sitting for an entrance exam in which the questions could not be but simple. The school authorities no doubt had a huge task on their hands as typically, more than 2000 apply every year for 200 seats in this premier school. Anyway, the long and the short of it was that my daughter gained the coveted admission to the prestigious school and 11 years later passed out from Class 12.

2.You do not have to be a teacher, you do have the choice to educate at home or otherwise here in the UK.
3. A child learns more as the classes are smaller and a child can sometimes slip through the net. After teaching my own daughter at home due to a chair being thrown down the stairs at her by bullies I found out she could hardly read or write then and she was 14!
4.You are in control of what you teach your child,a child has a legal right to an education but you do not have to follow the schools curriculum. you can find many resources available off the internet.
5.Your child will be more confident, develop self help skills were other child even lack basic cooking skills at age 16.your child will also become more organised and able to integrate in the workforce easier when the time arrives.
